The play that goes wrong

Theater Baden-Baden

The phenomenon that has taken audiences by storm from London across the globe, comes finally to Baden-Baden: a hopelessly amateur troupe of well-meaning actors attempts to put on a muder-mystery. From the first moment, everything goes wrong that can and we witness the actors bravely soldier on against the worst of odds.

Playing continuously in London since 2012, The Play That Goes Wrong has been heralded as the best comedy of the 21st century. Our production in Baden-Baden, with slapstick choreography from Jan Krauter and a vibrant aesthetic inspired by the films of Wes Anderson, we see the Cornley Drama Society with a German flair. Played for sold out houses from January-June of 2024 and was renewed for a second season.

“One mishap follows the next, a second murder occurs. All attempts to cover up the mistakes only drive the plot to further extremes - into murderous laughter in the truest sense of the word, which triggers spontaneous applause several times. The Baden-Baden ensemble proves that it can also shine in the slapstick genre.”
